PROVENANCE BEFORE RECOMMENDATION

Data-source registry.

INSIT3 prefers authoritative public issuers and uses free model services only where their evidence class and limitations can be stated precisely.

KNOWN GAPS

No false precision

  • No authoritative deterministic nationwide day-14 forecast exists for all 19 hazards.
  • Raw nationwide lightning-strike data have redistribution restrictions; public NOAA summaries are less granular.
  • Urban flooding, smoke, atmospheric-river events, ice accretion, and blizzards lack complete uniform national feeds across all horizons.
  • Alaska NOAA county-coded history remains unscored; FEMA NRI county-equivalent values are supplemental only.
  • Connecticut legacy county totals are not reassigned to current planning regions; the official Census town crosswalk is disclosed instead.
  • Climate projections represent meteorological variables, not trustworthy local event forecasts for tornadoes, hail, cyclones, surge, wildfire occurrence, or urban inundation.
